Planning: Hawaiin Soothing Vibes 2019

What started last year as an twinkle of an idea for a girls' trip to Paris and Amsterdam in May 2019, quickly morphed into let's go back to Hawaii. Why you ask? Well 1st off I started the year with torn medial and lateral meniscus and had to have surgery, I also ended up with several other health scares and issues for the first 5 months of the year that postponed any trips. Then my daughter got very unexpectedly laid off - folks were shocked as all get out when half the company was let go on a Tuesday, including my daughter's whole department. I thought she was joking when she called to tell me. I think I was more mad that she wasn't mad, at first, the mad came later. But hey, I can hold a grudge with the best of 'em so my pistivity (yeah I like to make up words) level was more than enough for the both of us. So all of that shifted our trip to September. Then of course folks in Paris wanted to start showing out and acting crazy and with my lingering health things, w...

While I like to ignore all of my flaws and pretend they don't exist or are in fact enhancements, there is one that is really, really hard to disguise... my big ass head. I come by it honest as my dad has a ginormous round noggin so if he tried to deny me (and most of my siblings), they could just do a head size check and yep, we are his. Until, I found this hat on Amazon:  San Diego Hat Company Women's Ultrabraid Visor with Ribbon Binding, and Sweatband   It may not be as floppy and divalicious as some of the other hats out ...

Just to introduce the cast of characters you may see regularly mentioned and or contributing on this blog:    My 24 year old daughter, Teyonna, is my usual ride or die partner in crime but I also have a BFF (Best Friend Forever) of 23 years, Nikki, that I try to take some type of trip with every year as we do not live in the same state.  We all have a warped sense of humor and though I am a curmudgeonly type introvert a lot of the time, I also have a very social aspect and will talk to just about anyone who is friendly and open. It is a weird balance to manage. My daughter and friend also call me the baby and animal whisperer as I always seem to attract both wherever I go. Teyonna and I have a great relationship and people often mistake us for sisters. But never fear, I am still the mom and we both know it. As for Nikki, we are so different but the same - I am 5'11 and she is 5'2, though I think she insists on saying she is 5'4, to-mah-toe, to-ma-toe; her behi...
